Last Updated 26 July 2014, 11:18 IST

The condition of seven of the students who were injured in the fatal bus-train collision at an unmanned railway crossing in Telangana's Medak district on Thursday continued to remain critical, doctors said today.

"Four children are still in very critical condition and three are in critical condition. Condition of four kids is stable but they are still under observation. Nine students will be shifted from ICU to general rooms," doctors at a private hospital here said.

Sixteen persons -- 14 school children, the driver of the private school bus and the cleaner -- were killed and 20 students were injured as a passenger train hit the bus at the unmanned railway crossing in Masaipet village two days ago.

Meanwhile, a south central railway official said that a gate barrier had been now installed at the site of the mishap.
