The investigating agency had earlier raided his residential and official premises in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. His bank lockers were also freezed. Kalmadi is, however, not named as an accused in any of the eight FIRs that have been filed in the Commonwealth Games corruption cases.<br /><br />“Kalmadi was called by the CBI for questioning today that is why he is here,” said Kalmadi’s lawyer Hitesh Jain.<br /><br />The CBI is questioning Kalmadi over the alleged irregularities in the Rs 107 crore time-keeping contract awarded to Swiss company Omega for the Games, allegedly overlooking the bids of other international companies. <br /><br />Close aides of the suspended organising committee (OC) chairman, including former OC Secretary General Lalit Bhanot, former OC director general V K Verma and his personal assistant Shekhar Deorukhkar are in jail facing corruption charges. They have claimed that all contracts and policy decisions were taken with the approval of Kalmadi.<br /><br />Kalmadi, who has been suspended as Commonwealth OC chairman and also axed as <br />Congress secretary has reportedly demanded that the accountability of former urban development minister and incumbent oil and petroleum minister Jaipal Reddy and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit should also be taken into account. Himself a Lok Sabha MP, Kalmadi has also dared the government to have a joint parliamentary probe into the alleged CWG scam. <br /></p>
