The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn seven electives and another seven vocational subjects at the senior secondary level (Class XI and XII) with effect from 2017-18 due to “very low” enrolment in these subjects.
“Accordingly, the schools are advised not to offer these subjects at the senior secondary level from the forthcoming session of 2017-18,” the school board said, issuing notification on Thursday evening.
Philosophy; Creative writing and Translation Studies; Heritage Craft; Graphic Design; Human Rights and gender Studies; Theatre Studies; Library and Information Science are the seven academic elective that the school board has withdrawn.
Those seven vocational subjects which stands withdrawn are—Poultry Nutrition and Physiology; Poultry Products and Technology; Poultry Disease and their Control; Foundry Technology; Management of Dairy Animals; Milk marketing and Entrepreneurship and Dairy product Technology.
