<p>New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized around 110 kg of banned methamphetamine tablets valued at around Rs 88 crore in the international market in two separate cases in the north-east and arrested four suspected drug traffickers with Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying there will be “no mercy” for drug cartels.</p><p>The seizures and arrests were made in Lilong in Manipur and Silchar in Assam on March 13, an official statement said.</p>.Karnataka's 'biggest' drug bust: How Mangaluru police cracked Rs 75-crore MDMA haul, arrested two foreign nationals.<p>“No mercy for drug cartels. Accelerating the Modi govt's march to build a drug-free Bharat, a massive consignment of methamphetamine tablets worth Rs 88 crore is seized and four members of the international drug cartel are arrested in Imphal and Guwahati zones,” Shah posted on X.</p><p>The drug haul is a “testament to the stellar performance of the bottom-to-top and top-to-bottom approach to investigation”, he said adding, “our hunt for drugs continues.”</p><p>Law enforcement agencies said the north-east has emerged as one of the most vulnerable areas for drug trafficking owing to its geographic location. Officials said NCB is concentrating especially on tackling the trafficking of synthetic drugs such as Methamphetamine tablets, popularly known as ‘Yaba’. </p>.Drugs were shield against trauma? The drug was concealed in the toolbox of the truck and two occupants of the vehicle were arrested.</p><p>In a follow-up investigation, the intended receiver of the consignment was also arrested.</p><p>In a separate operation on the same day on the Assam–Mizoram border near Silchar, the NCB Guwahati Zone officials intercepted an SUV and recovered 7.48 kg of Methamphetamine tablets concealed inside the spare tire of the vehicle. One person was arrested with investigators claiming that the drug was meant to be delivered in Karimganj.</p><p>In both the cases, Moreh is suspected to be the source of the contraband seized.</p><p>The statement also said the NCB is also taking over the investigation of a case of seizure of 46 kg of Crystal Meth at Brigade Bawngkawn in Aizawl on March 6 from the Mizoram State Excise Department. Four persons were arrested in the case and the NCB will probe the international and inter-state linkages of the drug trafficking network.</p>
