<p>In a tragic incident, a fifth standard girl died by suicide allegedly fearing that she could be scolded by her parents for buying ice cream in exchange for wheat in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district, about 100 kilometres from here.</p>.<p>According to the reports, the girl, identified as Khushbu, a student of fifth standard, could not resist herself upon seeing an ice cream vendor, when the latter passed by her house at Majara Bhawanipur village on Thursday and asked for ice cream.</p>.<p>As the ten-year-old girl did not have cash, the ice cream vendor asked her to bring two handfuls of wheat to barter the same for the ice cream. Irked over her refusal, Kajal threatened to tell their parents, who had gone to work in the fields, that Khushbu had bought ice cream in exchange for wheat. Kajal, thereafter, went away with the cattle to the fields.</p>.<p>A terrified Khushbu, who was left alone in the house, allegedly hanged herself with a rope apparently fearing that she could be scolded by her parents after they came to know about the matter, reports said.</p>.<p>Khushbu was found hanging by the rope after her parents returned home in the evening. Police said that the girl had died by suicide and that her body had been hand been handed over to her parents after postmortem.</p>
