<p>Lucknow: At least 22 inmates, some convicted, who had <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/world/five-juveniles-dead-in-clashes-in-nepal-prison-over-7000-prisoners-escape-from-different-jails-amid-unrest-3721255">escaped from different jails in the trouble torn Nepal</a> during days of violence there, were caught by the Indian security personnel on the borders in Uttar Pradesh while trying to cross into India.</p><p>According to the reports, the SSB (Sashatra Seema Bal) jawans apprehended these prisoners when they tried to cross into India from borders in Siddharth Nagar district in the state.</p><p>Reports said that these prisoners had escaped from Dillibazar jail in Kathmandu. ‘’Preliminary investigations revealed that these prisoners took advantage of the chaos in the jail arising out of the massive violence in Nepal after the government imposed a ban on social media,,’’ said an official in Siddharth Nagar on Wednesday.</p>.Three dead in clashes in Nepal prison, over 15,000 inmates escape from different jails amid unrest.<p>They said that 10 prisoners who had escaped from Neaplese jails were nabbed on the borders in Bihar and three were apprehended in West Bengal,</p><p>India and Nepal shared around 1751 kilometre long open border and the SSB had been on the alert mode after violence flared up in the hill nation. ‘’All the check posts are on high alert,’’ the officials said.</p><p>The intelligence unit of the SSB was keeping an eye on the villages adjacent to the border, they added.</p><p>Reports said that the prisoners were trying to gain entry into the Indian side through narrow paths. All of them were handed over to the local police.</p><p>Those apprehended included many prisoners who were convicted and were serving sentences in cases ranging from drug smuggling, rape and theft.</p>
