India's first deep-sea human submersible set for 2026 as aquanaut hits 5,000-metre depth

In a key step towards India’s first deep-sea human submersible mission, two NIOT personnel have dived to 4,000 and 5,000 metres in the North Atlantic, gaining vital experience for operating the indigenous Matsya-6000, set for a 6-km plunge by 2027.
