<p>Describing the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh as a ''holocaust'', Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh on Sunday said despite the ultras threat, the government will continue its developmental works in the backward region of the country. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Condemning the “barbaric incident,” Ramesh felt the killing of the senior Congress leaders of the state was a big blow for the party but it would rise to the challenge.<br /><br />Jairam, who was also active in the Congress party’s Parivarthan Yatra in the state, participated in several public rally in the tribal region of the state along with the killed leaders. <br /><br />“What happened in Chhattisgarh was a holocaust. I was with my friends Nandkumar Patel, Kawasai Lakma, Mahendra Karma (the slain leaders) on Thursday in Bijapur district. Before leaving, I had promised to rejoin them very soon. I did not expect, anticipate or imagine the massacre that took place,” Ramesh told reporters.</p>
