Amit Shah to visit Jammu and Kashmir next week for security review

Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir next week, sources said on Monday.

The visit aims to assess Union Territory’s current security situation amid the ongoing major anti-terror operation in Kathua district of Jammu region and several constituents of separatist conglomerate Hurriyat Conference distancing themselves from separatism in recent days.

During his visit, Shah is expected to hold a high-level security review meeting in Jammu. The meeting will focus on evaluating the security situation in the Union Territory, particularly in light of the challenges posed by cross-border terrorism.

Sources also revealed that the Home Minister will visit forward areas along the International Border to review security arrangements. Shah is set to meet with security personnel deployed in the sensitive areas to discuss operational readiness and challenges faced by them on the ground.
