<p>Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri, Mian Altaf Ahmad, has opted out of a high-level all-party parliamentary delegation currently visiting five countries to garner international support against Pakistan’s role in promoting cross-border terrorism.</p><p>The third such delegation, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, departed on Thursday for a multi-nation tour covering Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain. </p><p>The tour is part of New Delhi's wider diplomatic push to expose Pakistan’s continued support for terrorist groups operating from its soil and to build a unified global stance against cross-border terrorism.</p> .How about an all-party goodwill delegation across India?.<p>However, Altaf, a senior NC leader and influential religious figure in Jammu and Kashmir, cited prior commitments as his reason for not joining the delegation.</p><p>“In view of the Urs, observed in the first week of June every year at Wangath, Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, I will not be able to join the delegation,” Altaf said. </p><p>The veteran politician also serves as the Sajada Nasheen (spiritual custodian) of the revered Ziyarat Baba Ji Sahib Larvi Wangath shrine, which draws thousands of devotees during the annual Urs (religious gathering).</p><p>“Yes, my party had recommended my name for the all-party delegation, but due to some unavoidable work related to the upcoming Urs, I will not be able to join,” he added, confirming that the Ministry of External Affairs and his party had been duly informed and raised no objections.</p>
