Two terrorists killed in encounter with Army along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara; operation underway

On Monday night, the Army reported suspicious movement along the Line of Control and fired towards it in the evening.

Two unidentified terrorists have been killed along the Line of Control (LoC) near Machil and Dudniyal in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara and search operations are underway in the area, the Army said on Tuesday.

On Monday night, the Army troops reported suspicious movement along the Line of Control and fired towards it in the evening, around 7 PM.

"Based on specific intelligence input by JKP & corroborated by sources and agencies, regarding likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice in Machhal Sector, Kupwara on 13 Oct 2025," the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.

"Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists. Large quantity of weapons and equipment recovered. The operation is in progress." it added.
