<p>Mangaluru: By the end of this year, a total of 42 automated driving test tracks will be constructed across Karnataka, said Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy. </p><p>He was speaking after inaugurating an automated driving test track in Pajeer village in Ullal of Mangaluru on Sunday. </p><p>With the completion of the tracks, Karnataka will be the first state in the country to have the highest number of automated driving test tracks, he said.</p><p>"It is being ensured that every district has one automated driving test track. The ones at Dharwad, Koppala, Chintamani, Sirsi among others are complete. Works are in progress in Gulbarga, Yadagiri, KGF and Belagavi among others. It has been planned to complete the works in Honnavara, Madhugiri, Gokak among others", the minister said.</p><p>He further stated that the test track in Pajeer is built at a cost of Rs seven crore. </p>.BMTC set to have 1,779 e-buses by year-end.<p>The Transport Minister stated that 500 electric buses are provided to the state including 100 in Mangaluru. There is a need to identify land for the depot. The maintenance of the buses are procured by organisations via tender. Drivers are also provided from the outsourcing company. </p><p>The conductors will be employed by the state government, Ramalinga Reddy said and stated that he has spoken to Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy towards relaxation of GST on e-buses. </p><p>Dakshina Kannada M P Capt Brijesh Chowta said that with the construction of the automated driving test track in Pajir, a long pending demand has been fulfilled. </p><p>The central government will provide 100 electric buses to Mangaluru city, he said and requested the transport minister to take measures to run more interstate KSRTC buses from Mangaluru to Kasargod. </p><p>Presiding the programme, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker and Mangaluru MLA U T Khader said that the Ullal region will see more development as new facilities such as automated driving test tracks have come up. </p><p>The trade will flourish with more investment, he said and added that The next major projects are that of Beary Bhavana and Abbakka Bhavana. </p><p>Laptops were provided to village accountants on the occasion.</p>
