A fair for job hunters

A ray of hope to be placed in the company of their choice, tension followed by excitement, and a wish to make use of the opportunity provided by the University of Mysore, this is how desperate job hunters and recently passed out graduates were in the job fair.

The job fair was organised by Centre for proficiency development and placement services (CPDPS) in association with Kaizen 4front technologies private limited Mysore in Humanities auditorium here on Saturday.

To provide employment opportunity for graduates, post-graduates and diploma holders Job fair was organised. 18 companies from various sectors were invited to conduct an interview in the campus. About 700 people registered their names to try their chance in the interview.

Inaugurating the job fair Vice-chancellor of University of Mysore V G Talwar said many people with PhD, gold medals and ranks are still unemployed. Universities cannot ensure jobs to all the students but our university is signing Memorandum of understanding with many companies to provide job opportunities for students.  He suggested job aspirants to improve communication skills and face the interview with courage.

I have completed my Post graduation this year and I had confusion about the companies  where I can apply,  whom to approach and how to apply for job but this Job fair today has given me an opportunity to face first interview without facing much problems said S Supriya a job aspirant.

Another job aspirant who resigned  his job very recently felt that the opportunity provided by the university is promising and hopes to be placed.

An opportunity to choose the companies of my choice is another advantage of this fair, said Shantha Raju.

Vice-chacellor of University of Mysore V G Talwar, registrar Naik, Registrar evaluation Ramu, Syndicate member Shivaraj, EMMRC director Balasubramanyam,  director of CPDPS A S Dasan and programme coordinator CPDPS Niranjana Vanalli were present at the inauguration of job fair.
