Accused in Bejai Raja murder case acquitted

The first additional district and sessions court has acquitted 16 men who had been accused in the murder of Bejai Raja.

Underworld don Ravi Poojary and Kali Yogish, two prime accused in the case, are yet to be arrested.

Pradeep Mendon, Chandu, Achyuta, Subrahmanya, Bharatesh, Deekshith, Jaison D’Souza, Avinash, Nitesh Kumar, Vijay, Sushanth, Mahesh Kodikal, Ganesh, Charan Shet and Vikki had been accused of murdering Bejai Raja alias Shailesh with lethal weapons at Falnir in the city in 2012.

Kadri police had filed a charge-sheet against the accused.

Of the 19 accused, Avinash, Jaison and Vikki had passed away in the course of investigation, a press release from advocate Asha Nayak stated.
