Chinnaswamy stampede: BJP's R Ashoka demands judicial or CBI inquiry in tragic incident

Bengaluru: Leader of Opposition R Ashoka on Wednesday demanded either a judicial inquiry or a CBI inquiry following deaths from a stampede-like situation at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

"The failure of the police was showcased today," Ashoka said outside the Bowring and Lady Curzon near Shivajinagar.

"This was a planned photoshoot for the government and their lackeys. There should either be a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge or a probe by the CBI," he demanded.

At least 10 people were feared dead following the traffic incident at the stadium where the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning their maiden IPL trophy were organised.
