2 held; pelt, pistol recovered

The accused, Arjun and Balakrishna from Vanvarati village in Villupuramvattam district in Tamil Nadu, had shot dead two deers at the Kottalmalai forest area, the police said. They came to the City to sell the skins and stayed at a lodge on BVK Road. The police raided their room on Tuesday and recovered the pelt and the pistol. Another accused Murugesh is absconding, added the police.

Probe into murder

The police have intensified investigation into the murder of a former Doordarshan employee’s wife at Ittamadu in Channammanakere Achhukattu police limits.

Two special teams, constituted to probe into the murder of Hemalatha, have collected vital clues from the spot and the call details of Hemalatha who was murdered when she was alone at home on Tuesday. They questioned friends, relatives,  neighbours and those who talked over phone with Hemalatha. the police said.

The police suspect rivalry as the motive behind the murder, though Hemalatha’s husband Mahadevappa had ruled out enmity with anyone.
