3 BBMP engineers suspended

The Transport Minister who visited the Majestic area for security inspection was hounded by the locals who complained of the small pedestrian underpass near Sangam Theatre being leased out “illegally” to traders to set up shops. People also complained to the minister of the subway becoming a hub of illegal activities.

On hearing their woes and witnessing the small 8-feet pedestrian subway, Ashok directed the BBMP commissioner to take immediate action against the engineers concerned.

Assistant Engineer, Wendon, Assistant Executive Engineer, Jayanna Gowda and JE Prabhu have been directed to be placed under suspension.

Further the Minister has also directed the Palike to clear the encroachments in the area within the next 24-hours.
