50 more services under Sakaala

As many as 50 more services would be included under the Right to Services legislation, taking the total number of services to 202.

According to a press release from the office of Law Minister Suresh Kumar, the proposal would be placed before the next Cabinet meeting for approval.

At present, 151 services of 11 departments are under the ambit of the system. These include commercial taxes, education, food and civil supplies, health and family welfare, home, labour, revenue, transport and RDPR.

A team of top Central government officials are in Bangalore to study the programme and explore the possibility of replicating the the ‘Karnataka model’ in Central government departments, the release stated.
