The applicants for sites in Arkavathy Layout staged a demonstration in front of the Bangalore Development Authority office on Friday when they were stopped from submitting a memorandum to the BDA commissioner.

A few of the applicants had approached the High Court alleging that they have not been allotted sites even after a lapse of several years of submitting applications.

The High Court had directed the BDA to start the procedure in six weeks. The Court had asked the applicants to submit their representation to the BDA commissioner in two weeks.

Accordingly, the petitioners came to the BDA office on Friday. Commissioner Sham Bhat was not in the office and his secretary refused to accept their representation prompting the applicants to stage a protest.

The matter was resolved after a police inspector intervened and got the letter accepted.
