BBMP files FIR against illegal road digging

Bengaluru: An FIR has been registered in the Bagalgunte police station against private individuals who dug up the road illegally in RK Layout, 3rd Cross of Shettyhalli ward in Dasarahalli.

This is a rare move as generally the civic body goes soft in such cases. In this case, the action was initiated on the orders of the zonal commissioner, which was followed by an inspection from the engineers concerned. 

Photographs show that a large portion of the road was dug up to lay a sewage line connection to the underground manhole chamber.
