<p>Bengaluru: The BBMP on Tuesday slapped a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on New Delhi-based Rodic Consultants, which was tasked with the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the 16.6-km tunnel road between Central Silk Board and Hebbal.</p>.<p>The action follows the delay in submitting the revised DPR with parameters prescribed in the tender conditions. </p>.<p>In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on January 28, the consulting firm was directed to submit the revised DPR in chronological order, giving references to all the parameters prescribed in the contract document.</p>.BBMP extends deadline to apply for welfare schemes until February 25 .<p>The last date for submission was February 3. </p>.<p>As the private agency failed to meet the deadline, the civic body slapped the penalty of Rs 10 lakh while directing the firm to submit the document within the next five working days. It also warned that a penalty of 10 per cent would be imposed on the private agency if it fails to meet the new deadline. </p>.<p>The development comes at a time when the consulting firm has come under severe scrutiny for several discrepancies in the tunnel road DPR. Initially, citizens found names of cities of Maharashtra in the traffic data of Bengaluru’s tunnel road.</p>.<p>On Monday, <em>DH</em> had reported about the data of Namma Metro being used in the tunnel road DPR even though the BBMP had paid Rs 9.5 crore for the job.</p>
