After finding irregularities worth crores of rupees, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday asked its site owners near Kengeri Satellite Town to produce land documents.

“As there were issues with a few pieces of land in the area, the beneficiaries refused to take it. So, these beneficiaries were given some other sites in the same locality and other areas. We did not allot the sites that were refused to anyone. But some miscreants sold these sites by creating fake documents, which led to a large-scale loss,” a senior BDA official told DH.

The BDA commissioner had ordered the affiliated bodies to not to take any decisions regarding the BDA sites in Kengeri Satellite Town and also ordered for an inquiry on January 31.

Based on the investigation, Krishnoji Rao, who was acting as a broker in the land dealings, has been identified to be involved along with Ramesh Gowda, Prem, Vijaykumar, Rajashekar and others in the scam.

Fake documents

According to the primary investigation, the suspects created fake registration cards, allotment letters, bills, lease cum sale deed agreement and acquisition documents, including the documents related to the Bangalore Development Authority and sold the land worth crores.

Beside Kengeri, the alleged offenders are suspected to have done the same deal in other projects also related to the authority.

However, the authority has asked the landowners in Kengeri Satellite Town to produce the land documents in seven days, and if they fail to do, so the authority would acquire their land.
