Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will cancel the allotment of sites in BDA layouts if the allottees fail to construct a building on the site within five years.
This period would be reckoned from the date of execution of sale agreement or such extended period as the authority may in an specified case by written order permit, according to the press release issued by BDA. BDA Commissioner Sham Bhatt later told Deccan Herald that the rule is applicable to all the BDA layouts in general.
