He returned shortly with a knife from his nearby residence, attacked her, and slashed her cheek, the police said.</p>.<p>As she fell to the ground, writhing in pain, the suspect fled, while passersby came to her rescue and took her to the hospital.</p>.<p>The Kothanur police were informed. They registered a case, tracked down Ananda, and arrested him. “He has been remanded to judicial custody,” a police officer said.</p>
