<p>Bengaluru: An auto driver was killed, while four people travelling in a car had a narrow escape after an uprooted tree crashed on Kathriguppe Main Road in southern Bengaluru on Thursday evening, officials said.</p>.<p>The deceased was identified as Mahesh, 45, a resident of Ittamadu near Banashankari.</p>.<p>The incident occurred around 6.30 pm following a spell of heavy pre-monsoon rain.</p>.58-year-old man killed in serial crash near Bengaluru airport.<p>The tree also fell on a car, but all four occupants escaped unhurt.</p>.<p>Police said Mahesh had pulled over at the spot just a minute earlier. The tree fell on his vehicle just as he was about to plug in his earphones.</p>.<p>An Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered based on a complaint filed by Mahesh’s family, said Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).</p>.<p>Police sources said the family may amend the complaint to cite negligence by civic authorities as the cause of the tragedy.</p>.<p>Basavanagudi MLA L A Ravi Subramanya visited the spot and urged the BBMP to quickly clear dangerous trees. He noted that the civic body lacks sufficient teams to remove weak branches and said he had been writing to the BBMP about the issue for several months.</p>
