<p class="bodytext">Veeraloka Books aims to bring a thousand people together for a book launch on Sunday. Called ‘Sahitya Yugadi’, the event will witness the launch of 10 Kannada books in various genres.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Veerakaputra Srinivas, proprietor of the publishing house, says, “There are at least 10 book launches every week. Only about 100 to 150 people get to attend them and usually it’s the same set of people. With this event, we aim to bring in new readers to the Kannada literary world, especially young readers.” </p>.<p class="bodytext">For ‘Sahitya Yugadi’, Srinivas wrote to about 70 colleges requesting them to send their students to the event.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Thirty colleges, including BMS, Vijaya, Aurobindo and National College have agreed to send 10 to 15 students who have a keen interest in literature,” he shares. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli, writer Baraguru Ramachandrappa and novelist Sahana Vijayakumar are the chief guests of the event. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Sahitya Yugadi, March 23, 9.30 am, at Town Hall, J C Road.</p>
