BSY rejoins BJP, vows to make Modi PM

 Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday began his second innings in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by seeking its primary membership a little over an year after he quit the party to launch his own outfit.

KJP legislators Vishwanth Patil and U B Banakar and a host of Yeddyurappa’s supporters, including Shobha Karandlaje, C M Udasi, M P Renukacharya, Nehru Olekar and Sunil Vallyapure, rejoined the BJP at the party office in Bangalore. Yeddyurappa was given the party’s active membership after he paid Rs 105. He was given membership receipt bearing the number 30,001. There are 27 lakh members across the state.

The BJP top brass in the state, including party president Pralhad Joshi, Jagadish Shettar, D V Sadananda Gowda, MP Ananth Kumar, K S Eshwarappa and R Ashoka were present to welcome Yeddyurappa and his followers back into the BJP. Hundreds of party workers were witness to his homecoming. As many as 4,600 KJP workers enrolled in the BJP on Thursday.

Thereafter, it was a show of bonhomie with leader after leader stating that they will unitedly take on the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
