<p>Bengaluru: The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested a student from a private university in north Bengaluru for abetting the suicide of his classmate.</p><p>CK Baba, Superintendent of Police (Bengaluru Rural), told <em>DH</em> that Chiranth, who was named in the FIR, was placed under arrest and is currently in judicial custody.</p><p>The deceased was Arun C, 22, originally from Hassan, and a bright architecture student at the private university in North Bengaluru, whose parents were labourers. Sources had said Arun got admission due to his excellent academic performance and had just finished writing his eighth semester examinations.</p><p>Arun was sharing an accommodation with Chiranth and the other two. “A few months ago, due to some issue between them regarding some pending payment, the arrested suspect began sending nasty and degrading messages about the victim. Before his death, he had shared a pre-recorded video on his classroom’s WhatsApp group called Architecture Nashaa, explaining the stress he was going through, his parents had told the police.</p><p>Following the complaint from the parents, the Madanayakanahalli police opened the case under BNS Section 108 (abetment of suicide) against Chiranth and the two others, whose role wasn’t established during the probe.</p><p>Just after the death, based on the parents’ statement, the police had registered an unnatural death report (UDR). They registered the FIR on July 21 after the parents discovered the video and informed them that they would file a complaint after the last rites.</p><p>The All India Democratic Students' Organisation (AIDSO) alleged ragging behind the incident. Police, however, said that the probe so far had revealed no angle or ragging. "Suicide is never a solution for a problem people face.
