Cong, JD(S) join hands

When of election for the post of president and vice-president began on Tuesday, the BJP members sought postponement alleging that one its member V Babu, had been abducted.

However, when the returning officer decided to go ahead with the process, the BJP members staged a walk out.

C Mariyappa of the Congress was elected president, while T G Annapurna Krishnamurthy of the JD(S) was elected vice-president.
