Cop slaps driver; minister orders action

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has directed Bengaluru City Police Commissioner T Sunil Kumar and Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) R Hithendra to act sternly against traffic police officials who misbehaved with a driver.

Reddy took note of the video which the driver had shared on social media and directed top cop to take action against the errant official.

A traffic police official abused a goods vehicle driver as he demanded receipt for the penalty he had paid. The policeman slapped the driver and even refused to issue the receipt.

The driver recorded the whole episode on his mobile phone and uploaded it on social media to draw the attention of senior police officers. The video went viral and the minister also took note of it. He instructed top police officials direct their subordinates for maintaining  cordial relations with the public. R Hitendra has ordered a probe into the incident.
