Hello and welcome back to another episode of Monday Mobility.
After much delay, the Karnataka government finally tabled the Bangalore Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA) Bill in the State Assembly three weeks ago.
This umbrella body will coordinate with multiple agencies on issues related to traffic and mobility and help make sense of the city's humongous vehicular population, its massive road density and ways to streamline it.
But BMLTA can do much more. To understand its role better, DH Radio's Rasheed Kappan speaks to Dr Ashish Varma, a traffic engineering expert from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Srinivas Alavilli from Janaagraha.
