More than 150 children between 11 and 13 years of age who came from places like Doddaballapur and Anekal were given the topic - ‘The power of Peace’. However, one of the organisers said that the participation was not as much as they had expected. “We expected nearly 400 children. However, the low turn out could be due to other four painting competitions that are simultaneously happening in the City,” he said.
While all the children got certificates, the winners were given prizes in the form of books. The first prize winning painting will compete in the state-level competition. The paintings were judged by M J Kamalakshi, principal of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Shivakumar, art teacher from MSV Public School and Tulsinag, art teacher from Aditya Public School.
