Man on bail eliminates witness in murder case

Last Updated 10 February 2017, 19:58 IST

A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death at Veerasandra in Electronics City on Thursday evening over an old rivalry. The deceased, Srinivas, was a driver with Arvind Garments.

The murder took place around 5.30 pm on Thursday after Srinivas entered the company premises. As he alighted from his vehicle, a gang of five men stabbed him repeatedly, and absconded. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after a while, police said.

The victim’s family members suspect the involvement of Manjunath, a resident of Hebbugodi, and his associates.

Police had arrested Manjunath on charge of murdering Muniyappa, Srinivas' nephew in February 2016. He had come out on bail recently.

Manjunath barged into Srinivas’ house on February 5 and warned him against being a witness in Muniyappa’s murder case. Srinivas later approached the police.
