<p>An unidentified man allegedly barged into a women’s PG in northeastern Bengaluru, misbehaved with a female Bescom employee and fled after stealing two of her mobile phones.</p>.<p>According to the police, the incident occurred on August 11 between 3 pm and 3.30 pm at a ladies’ PG at Judicial Layout near Yelahanka.</p>.<p>The victim told the police that she joined the PG 15 days ago and was in her room on the third floor after lunch when she heard a knock on the door. As per the FIR, she worked as an assistant engineer at Bescom.</p>.<p>It wasn’t immediately clear if there were other occupants in the PG at the time of the offence.</p>.<p>She alleged that when the door was opened, the suspect barged in, held a knife to her throat, asked her to remove the gold bangle from her hands and touched her inappropriately.</p>.<p>The victim told the police that since she couldn’t remove the bangle, the man asked her to give him money and whatever was inside her vanity bag that was on the cot. As per the FIR, when the suspect moved towards the vanity bag, the victim screamed, ran inside the washroom and locked the door.</p>.<p>When she came out later, the man had escaped along with her two mobile phones: One OnePlus worth Rs 30,000 and an iPhone worth Rs 75,000.</p>.<p>A senior officer said that they have begun the probe and are analysing CCTV footage to trace the suspect. They are also investigating how the man gained access inside the PG and whether she knew the woman before, as he knew where her room was, and would question the PG staff regarding the presence of adequate safety measures in place.</p>.<p>The Yelahanka police registered the case under Section 311 (Robbery, or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).</p>.<p>Earlier, Bengaluru police had arrested a 37-year-old man who operated a PG in Soladevanahalli for allegedly raping a female tenant. </p>
