Melodious tunes for the festive season

Christmas is around the corner and ‘The Bangalore Men’ will ring in the season with a special concert on December 10, 7 pm onwards at Aruna Sunderlal Auditorium, RT Nagar.

   ‘Carols in The City’ will set the tone for the fast-approaching Christmas season with carol classics, jazz pieces as smooth as melting toffee and fun arrangements of well-known tunes to herald the warmth and cheer for the audience.

‘The Bangalore Men’, an all-male voice ‘acappella’ ensemble, consists of 16 singers, all with many years of previous experience singing in choirs.

The group focusses on western classical music, from eras ranging from medieval music to contemporary tunes. Conducted by Jonas Olsson, voice faculty at ‘Bangalore School of Music’ and coached by Swedish international operatic soprano, Maria Forsström, ‘Carols in The City’ will feature soloists Anup Abraham Thomas, Nivedh Jayanth, Chinglang Konyak and Jonas Olsson with Avinash Grubb accompanying them on the piano.
