<p>Bengaluru: The 10th edition of 'Tulu Parba', a celebration of Tulu Nadu's culture, folk traditions and cuisine, was held in the city on Sunday.</p>.<p>Hosted at Bunts' Sangha Hall in Vijayanagar, the event brought together businessmen, industrialists, educationists, artists and professionals from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to showcase the heritage of the Tulu-speaking community.</p>.<p>The day-long programme featured folk performances, traditional food of Coastal Karnataka, and the popular Tulu drama, <em>Paramathme Panjurli</em>.</p>.<p>The event aimed to introduce the culture, cuisine, and practices of Tulu Nadu to the younger generation.</p>.<p>Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj, music director Gurukiran Shetty and educationist Soundarya P Manjappa were among the notable attendees. Celebrity chef Sona Ganesh Nayak was felicitated for his contribution to the Tulu and Konkani communities.</p>.<p>Speakers at the event urged that Dakshina Kannada district be renamed as Mangaluru district, to reinforce cultural identity.</p>.<p>Besides folk music and dance, the event treated the community to a spread of signature coastal dishes such as neer dosa with chutney, pathrode, pundi, Mangalorean fish curry, and jackfruit payasam. </p>
