Newborn found dead in dustbin

 A newborn baby boy, reportedly just one-day old, was found dead in a garbage bin opposite the government hospital in Shankar Nagar under the Nandini Layout police limits on Friday.

A local resident found the boy when he went to the bin to dispose garbage. He later called the police. The baby is suspected to have been born the previous day as its umbilical chord was still intact. It might have been dumped on Thursday night.

The Nandini Layout police are checking with hospitals to trace the baby’s mother.
