Sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Bangalore Zonal Unit, arrested four people, including a Nigerian and Sudanese national each, from a flat in KR Puram on Tuesday on the charges of possessing and peddling drugs.

A senior NCB officer said that among the four suspects, one hailed from Nigeria and another from Sudan. They have been identified as Babu from Bangalore, Bhiti Singh from Odisha, Anthony from Nigeria and Yusuf Ismail from Sudan. Based on a tip-off, the NCB raided the flat and claimed to have seized 5.32 kg of ganja from the suspects.

“These men are suspected to have been peddling drugs to mostly college students and those from some well-known schools. Anthony had a valid passport. But we are not able to get any identification or passport from Ismail,” the officer added. Investigation is on to unearth the suspects’ links, if any, with drug-peddling groups. The NCB is also looking to find the source from which the suspects procured the contraband.

“On the face of it, it appears to be a huge racket and more people are involved,” the officer said. The suspects will be produced before a court shortly.
