Nod for building plans in Visvesvaraya Layout soon

The BDA engineering division (West) had earlier refused to sanction the plans, following claims of ownership by a few people over the land which was acquired by BDA for the formation of the layout.

On December 29, Deccan Herald had carried a report about three officers of the engineering division refusing to sanction the building plans though there was no direction to this effect from the HC.

The BDA Secretary had, in his report, found fault with the three officers in this connection.
Now, R Srinivas, engineering member of the BDA, has issued a direction to the engineering division to sanction the plans so that the original allottees of the sites could take up construction work. “A direction to issue building sanction plans has been issued. The applicants will get the plans sanctioned,” Srinivas said.

BDA has allotted 410 sites in the two blocks of Visvesvaraya Layout. A few people had claimed ownership of the land on which the layout was developed. They said they were allotted land under a welfare scheme meant for the economically weaker sections of the society. However, the BDA Secretary’s report noted that the Authority had acquired land after following due procedures.
