During his inspection last Wednesday, Chairman of the panel, H Ravindra, had promised to put an end to footpath encroachment, garbage menace, and curb flesh trade in the area.
A hotel here has occupied nearly eight to 10 feet of the adjoining footpath.
But the chairman’s visit has had little effect on the encroachment. Even garbage under the flyover has not been cleared yet. Except pulling down a makeshift shed, the BBMP has taken no other action to clear debris and filth in the area.
According to BBMP sources, the biggest concern for them is a backlash anticipated in case of demolition of buildings and encroachment clearance.
