Young, footloose and fancy-free — this summarises the latest collection from Liva called ‘Trip Away’. As the name of the brand suggests, the collection consistsof the new-age fabric ‘Liva’, that is bright and stylish. The designers have played around with prints in this collection and made a conscious effort to not repeat any of them.

About asymmetric silhouettes

The designers say that the USP of Liva is that it has a fluid feel to it and is the kind of garment most women like to wear these days.

Manohar Samuels, president – marketing, Birla Cellulose, points out that when people go shopping, they pay attention to designs more than the fabric. “This is where Liva comes in. Its flowy dresses and asymmetric silhouettes make it popular among both college students and working women,” he states.

While cotton as a fabric gives comfort, it is stiff, silk is classy but traditional and heavy. Polyester, on the other hand, is easy to use but cannot be used regularly because the fabric doesn’t breathe easy. This is why Liva is different. It takes the shape of the body,” he adds.

Fashion has evolved with time and even Indian garments like ‘salwar kameez’ has undergone a huge transformation, he says.

“The ‘salwar kameez’ was first worn with a ‘dupatta’ but now it is worn without it and the ‘salwar’ has made way for ‘chudidhar’. Now, people have begun to choose flowy fabrics and Liva tops the list,” he adds.

The ‘Trip Away’ collection is designed for the compulsive traveller. “The mood of a free-spirited traveller is captured in all the designs. The bold and bright prints are a reflection of how art and creativity can be blended to perfection,” he says.  “One could choose from a range of bright dresses, tunics and jumpsuits,” he adds.

Mention accessories and Manohar says the clothes are bright enough and accessories would only make them look too dressy.

He says one should choose and accessorise in an intelligent way.
