Rowdy held for murder after 4 years

The police arrested Imran Pasha (32) of Bharathinagar and two of his associates and recovered one revolver and six live bullets.

His associates have been identified as Syed Siraj (29) of R T Nagar and Zameel (32) of D J Halli. Imran Pasha is a native of Moghulpur in Hyderabad. He is said to be involved in nine cases including a murder, an attempt to murder, extortion and dacoity.

Imran Pasha’s associates Syed and Zameel had reportedly stolen the revolver which belonged to a pub owner on Brigade Road, in April 2007. They handed over the revolver to Imran Pasha last year.

He had attempted to murder his rival Istiaq Pailwan in 2003. Imran Pasha had murdered Jabbar in 2006 and absconded to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The police, on a tip off, swung into action in K G Halli on March 3, where he had appeared and arrested him.

3 murder cases cracked

In the last fortnight, the Bangalore Rural police arrested 17 persons in several cases, claim to have solved three murder cases and recovered property worth around Rs 40 lakh.

An alert constable at a bar overheard a conversation during which one of the men boasted about not being caught by police despite having raped and killed a woman. The information collected by the constable and the arrest of the braggart, Manjunath, helped the police to solve a case of rape and murder of a woman at a eucalyptus grove in Pilliguppa industrial area in November 2008.

7 held for murder

The Hebbagodi police claimed to have solved the murder case of a financier and arrested seven persons involved in the crime.

Sridhar, a financier had lent lakhs of rupees to Balaji Exports partners Mallikarjuna and Mohan Kumar. When they failed to repay, Sridhar started pressuring for money. The two with the help of their Chennai friends killed Sridhar and burnt his body near Pallikonda in Tamil Nadu. The Vijayapura police arrested two persons and recovered four tempos and five two-wheelers worth Rs 12 lakh.
