A special Council meeting of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be held within a fortnight to discuss the impending water crisis the City may face with the onset of summer.

With the corporators raising the issue and highlighting the severity of the problem in their respective wards, BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah assured them that the water crisis must be addressed now, even before  summer sets in.

He insisted for rainwater harvesting as a means to tackle the water crisis.
House floor leader N Nagaraju said the depleted level at KRS dam would not be sufficient to meet the City's requirement and there was need to hold a special meeting with BWSSB officials.

Mela

The Dharmarayaswamy Temple corporator P Dhanaraj wants to hold a ‘Bed-pan Mela’ on the lines of Avarekayi Mela, Maavu Mela and Kadalekayi Parishe.

Aggrieved with the apathetic attitude of BBMP to construct a toilet at Kalasipalya bus stand, Dhanaraj asked Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy and Commissioner Siddaiah to supply free bed-pans to residents of his ward so that they can escape the shame of relieving in the open.

The corporator had brought with him a bed pan, which he displayed in the Council. Siddaiah assured the corporator that within a fortnight the toilet in his ward would be ready.
