Toddler run over by poll duty van

A two-year-old toddler came under the wheels of a KSRP van and died on the spot, in Ashraya Nagar in Yeshwantpur limits on Tuesday evening.

The victim is identified as Giri Prakash. His father, Vetrivelu, is working in a private firm in the city and mother is a housewife. The couple lives in Peenya 1 stage.

His parents had taken him to a grocery store when he walked towards the road without their notice. The KSRP van, which was on election duty, hit him and he died on the spot, the police said.

The Yeshwatpur traffic police have registered a case and are investigating the case.
