<p> Responding to a news item published in Deccan Herald on June 12, T Venkataraju, BWSSB’s engineer-in-chief, backed his assistant executive engineer (AEE) and said that the work had been carried out as mentioned in the information furnished to the RTI applicant.<br /><br />“I have complete faith in my AEE’s response that work has been carried out as per the work order. The MLA and the corporator of the area have monitored this work and I myself have visited the place and inspected the work while it was in progress. How can the public forget dug roads and pipeline replacement work in a span of just two years?,” he said.<br /><br />Guruprasad, the RTI applicant and a resident of Basavanagudi, said that he had not received complete details. “I have been living in this area for the past 35 years and I am very sure that there has been no UGD replacement work here,” he said.<br /><br />Guruprasad said that he filed the RTI application to know how old the pipelines were, since there was frequent clogging of drains in the area. He has apparently filed another RTI application and is waiting for BWSSB to furnish more details.</p>
