It was time for the expats in the City to meet once again as the monthly expats evening titled One World was held at Shiro, a city restaurant recently.

As the name suggests, the evening was open to the different foreign nationals residing in the City.

So there were no formalities as the guests were greeted by a friendly and relaxed atmosphere when they entered the restaurant that evening.

Held on the first Wednesday of every month, this meeting of expats is anything but formal.

Various foreign nationals from different parts of the world, living in Bangalore, walk in to the restaurant to enjoy a nice meal with their family and network with people for business and recreational purposes.

This event provides a common platform for all expats, embassies, members of clubs like OWC to network and socialise.

Like every other expat evening that has been held so far, even this one had a lot of entertainment lined up for everyone — classic tunes of the best music for the guests to sit back and enjoy the melodies while sipping their favourite drinks and enjoying a luxurious dinner.

Said Laura, the guest relations executive of the restaurant, “One World... is a networking evening and it has been a great success so far. It not only provides a platform for the guests to connect with each other, but promotes charitable deeds as well. The guests connect with each other and the event is open to anyone who wants to network, not just expatriates.”

Alan, an American expat, who has been in the City since last year, was spotted having a nice time.

“I belong to Orlando, Florida and have been coming for these evenings regularly. I have met a lot of people here and made some good contacts. It’s great fun,” he said.
Also having a good time were Sia, a German national who was visiting the City and his Indian friend Sirish. Though not aware of One World, the two were looking forward to meeting many new people and having a great evening.

As time passed away, the evening saw a few more guests coming in.

However, due to heavy rains, some of the expats decided to give it a miss. But never mind, there is always the next expat evening for them to attend.
