The date for ward meetings this month clashes with Ugadi and Lok Sabha elections, affecting issues on the agenda.

Citizens who are part of the committees find the meeting date inconvenient due to the festival, while civic agencies are refusing to attend meetings citing the model code and holidays, said a Bellandur resident. The meetings are held on first Saturday of the month.

Srinivas Alavilli from Citizens of Bengaluru said he may request the BBMP commissioner and Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun to shift the meet to the third Saturday.

“The meetings are in preliminary stages as not all wards meet regularly. And not all meetings happen on first Saturday,” Alavilli said.

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said meetings will take place and are not affected by the poll code.
