A 38-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Thalaghattapura police station that she was raped by her former employer six months ago.

Her complaint stated that Hemanth Yadav, a real estate dealer, had taken her to his home when she was working for him and raped her. She was so traumatised that she quit the job. But Yadav, the complaint said, started forcing her to come back to work. Unable to bear his torture, the woman lodged a complaint, said the police.

On Friday, based on the complaint, the police arrested Yadav and are interrogating him. They would also question the woman why she approached them after six months. The police said there were some missing links in the complaint and the exact reason for rape had to be ascertained. It also looks like the act was consensual but it cannot be confirmed until the investigation is completed, they police added.

A case has been registered at the Thalaghattapura police station.
