Nagalakshmi (45), a resident of Seshadripuram and her son N A Balakrishna were returning home when the accident occurred.
Nagalakshmi came under the rear wheel of the bus and was killed on the spot. Nagaraj fell on the other side and sustained injuries. The bus driver is absconding, the police said.
