BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday accused JD(S)-Congress coalition government of rampant corruption and further alleged the Kumaraswamy-led government of indulging in casteism in the transfer of the officials.

Yeddyurappa, who was in the city to attend State Veerashaiva Lingayat Employees’ Welfare Association convention, said, “It is the responsibility of the chief minister and other ministers to ensure social justice. The government has been transferring the officials based on the caste, which is not a good development,” he alleged.

“The state government is limited only for three to four districts and it is a threat to democracy. The government has indulged in rampant corruption in the name of farm loan waiver,” he alleged.

Commenting on the Lok Sabha elections, Yeddyurappa exuded confidence that the BJP will win 22 seats in the state. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity on the rise, BJP will come to power by winning 300 seats in the country, he said.

In Mandya, Yeddyurappa took severe exception to Congress MLA Raghavendra Hitnal’s statement asking proof for the death of terrorists in the airstrike. Yeddyurappa lambasted the Koppal MLA in singular and further took a potshot at KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao for supporting the legislator.
